Environmental Activities

Gunnebo has a target-oriented approach to reducing the Group’s impact on the climate. The environmental goals are part of the strategy for a safer future, leading to resource-efficient production and attractive products with a long life cycle and low energy consumption.

Gunnebo’s Environmental Policy, together with the Code of Conduct, plays a guiding role in the Group’s operation. An environmental management system is the foundation for active, forward looking environmental work within the Group and for setting the Group’s environmental goals.

ENVIRONMENTAL GOAL 1
Optimise energy consumption and minimise impact on climate change from the Group’s operations

ENVIRONMENTAL GOAL 2
Make efficient use of raw materials and natural resources

ENVIRONMENTAL GOAL 3
Maintain effective sorting-at-source and recycling of materials to enable Gunnebo to minimise the amount of non-recycled waste

ENVIRONMENTAL GOAL 4
Further develop Gunnebo’s strategy for product development, so that the Group takes environmental aspects, such as energy consumption and the use of natural resources, into consideration throughout the entire life cycle of a product

 Eco Design

Environmental work is an important and natural part of the activities of the Gunnebo Group. To contribute to a sustainable society, we work with a programme to create environmentally-friendly products, called EcoDesign.

Gunnebo's goal when designing products is to take into account every aspect of a product’s impact on the environment throughout its entire life cycle. The choice of materials and components in new products should be made in an environmentally sound manner and use of resources in production is optimised. Products are designed to have a long life cycle and consume as little energy as possible. When the Group's products are no longer used, they shall be designed to allow as much material as possible to be recovered and re-used.
