BUEC- Innovation Manager, Milan (Italy)

Overall Job Purpose:

In order to support ongoing business challenges, we are hiring an Innovation Manager for our R&D team (based in UK) within the Business Unit Entrance Control. We are recruiting our candidates near Albiate (MB), where one of our Plant is located.

To be part of the product creation team with a specific focus on developing and managing the product innovation plan for Gunnebo Entrance Control.

Working with the commercial teams to understand the market requirements and monitoring technology trends to identify new solutions that would differentiate Gunnebo’s products from the competitors.

As Innovation manager you are able to focus on the Research / Innovation funnel for R&D. Your responsibility will be to drive the innovation part of the process, review new technologies, materials, etc and take the ideas generated from the market (via product management) and develop proof of concepts so we can evaluate the potential viability and benefit to Gunnebo.

 

Key Responsabilities:

  • Develop and manage the technology roadmap with the product management and NPD teams
  • Develop partnerships with relevant companies and bodies to ensure Gunnebo identify emerging technologies that could add value to our products
  • Critically evaluate new technologies to determine their applicability to Gunnebo EC products
  • Work with New Product Development R&D team (NPD) to integrate new technologies into products
  • Develop proof of concept functions and products to demonstrate new ideas
  • Define and develop performance based test plans in order to validate new technologies
  • Follow company development procedures ensuring full documentation is completed for all projects
  • To work within the Company’s ISO Standards and procedures
  • Other duties as required

     

     

    Experience / Knowledge:

    Excellent knowledge of:
  • Sensors and sensing systems (structured light, stereoscopic cameras, Time of Flight, 3d Cameras, thermal imaging, capacitive sensing etc)
  • Internet of Things
  • AI / Neural network development and implementation
  • Electric motors preferably for automation and / or robotics

    Some knowledge/experience of:
  • EMC requirements and design with regard to CE certification

    Desirable:
  • SW application development (python, java, C#, etc)
  • Embedded FW development (C, C++)
