Several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals coincide with Gunnebo’s mission to create a safer world
Trainings, talks and local activities aim to raise awareness and understanding
Gunnebo Group is marking European Sustainable Development Week, 2023, with trainings, talks and local activities on sustainability.
European Sustainable Development Week, or ESDW, aims to promote activities at all levels that take us closer to United Nations goals set out in Agenda 2030, adopted by the UN six years ago. This sets out 17 key issues – known as the Sustainable Development Goals, or SDGs – that demand urgent action.
The ESDW this year actually takes place during three weeks from September 18 to October 8. Gunnebo is holding several trainings and workshops on sustainable development during this period, plus a global online talk for all employees.
Locally, in the UK, Gunnebo Entrance Control is challenging all its staff to calculate their carbon emissions and come up with innovative solutions to reduce their impact.
“There is a close relationship between security, development, and human rights. Several of the UN Sustainable Development Goals coincide with Gunnebo’s mission to create a safer world,” says Fredrik Fors, SVP Sustainability for Gunnebo Group.
“To accelerate our sustainability journey, this year we are talking part for the first time in European Sustainable Development Week. Our focus will be on sustainable supply chains, sustainable human resource practices, and our contribution to the SDGs.”
