Ingot offers fully automated safe deposit lockers

Gunnebo’s automated safe deposit system SafeStore Auto is behind an innovative new business model for private security services in Latin America. 

Ingot is offering 24/7 self-service access to safe deposit lockers for high-end customers, seeking to locate its services in gated communities, apartment complexes and shopping malls. 

At the heart of the service is SafeStore Auto. Identifying themselves through fingerprint and facial recognition, customers enter a lobby via a high security turnstile, a metal detector and armoured doors. They then use biometric and chip-and-pin technology to access their valuables automatically from their personal safe deposit locker inside the SafeStore Auto machine.  

“It was time to develop a new concept in service provision incorporating new technology, raising the bar and provide a high-quality service,” says Juan Piantoni, Ingot’s CEO. 

“The growth in demand is continuous, with a large migration of banking customers seeking greater security and service. But above all there are new users of safe deposit boxes who understand that the mattress has ceased to be a safe option to store their valuables. And unlike other services, customers can access safe deposit boxes 24 hours a day, seven days a week.” 

Ingot, which markets itself as “the avant-garde in protecting valuables”, opened its first branch in Argentina in 2020. It now has three locations, with three more under development. 

Gunnebo’s SafeStore Auto system was a pre-requisite for all existing sites and will be Ingot’s solution of choice for new facilities going forward.
