Gunnebo’s Service and Installation Team

Gunnebo’s Service and Installation Team installs our products and solutions all over the world, bringing high levels of expertise and dedication to each project.

Based in Poland, this team of around 30 people has expanded to have truly global reach. Over the past 13 years, these highly skilled engineers have worked in more than 100 countries on installations or preventive maintenance.

This year alone the team has visited 40 nations in North and South America, Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

The team has a uniquely varied skillset across all product areas offered by the Group. This means instead of using sub-contractors we can use a Gunnebo team with relevant experience and know-how.

Every project is distinct, and the situation on site varies from place to place. Once in Kazakhstan, a security door had to be installed at -26°C, covered in a thick layer of ice. Another time in Oman, the team worked at a scorching temperature of more than 50°C, with steel so hot that handling it was painful even with gloves.

Both during Covid and the political unrest affecting many countries, they have carefully maintained their high level of services both safely and efficiently. As a result, during all the projects completed throughout the years, no one in the team has sustained an injury.

Krzysztof Piwoński has worked in temperatures of -26 to more than 50 degrees

Before each installation, the team discusses the country they will be working in, the culture (what is permitted and what is not), what clothes to wear, which places they can visit and which not etc. For example, visiting Afghanistan they know that there it is prohibited to leave the airport after arrival by themselves – they must wait for an armoured convoy and wear a helmet and bulletproof jacket.

The team includes members who have been with Gunnebo from as little as one month to as many as 27 years. The nature of their work means they must live away from their families for long periods.

A long-term contract with the European Union has been key to developing the team. In 2008, Gunnebo started to equip EU embassies and delegations all over the world, starting with safes and then electronic security. This was the catalyst for expanding the team and making it a resource for the entire company.

The Service and Installation Team makes a big difference for the sites where they work, leaving them much more safe and secure, which is vital for everyone who works at or visits these sites.
This is what it means to live our Gunnebo mission – to create a safer world.
