Sustainable materials innovation, smartphone control of access rights, AI processes for predictive maintenance, and anti-crowbar attack solutions. These were some of the radical new technologies on display to visitors when Swedish security solutions company Gunnebo held an open evening at its Global Innovation Hub, based at the Aldo Moro University of Bari.
More than 50 guests from the Administration of the Region Puglia, local industry partners, Aldo Moro University and the Polytechnic University of Bari attended the event in May.
It was a special honour to welcome Dr. Gianna Elisa Berlingerio, Director of the Department for Economic Development of the Region Puglia.
Prof. Roberto Bellotti, Director of the Department of Physics at the University of Bari said: “Gunnebo’s Innovation Hub represents a great training opportunity for students and collaboration for researchers of the Physics Department of the University of Bari on extremely relevant topics for the future of our society – such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, IoT and sustainability.”
In 2021, Gunnebo launched the Innovation Hub, located inside the Michelangelo Merlin Department of Applied Physics. This marked a major investment in innovation, digitalisation and product development for Gunnebo, to better support our mission of creating a safer world and creating peace of mind.
“The Hub brings together a growing team of innovation specialists who have the focus and drive to push the boundaries of valuables protection and support our customers to develop their businesses and solutions,” said Stefan Syrén, President and CEO of Gunnebo.
“The open evening was a great event to showcase all the hard work put in delivering products and services to move Gunnebo into the future, as well as a testament to our partners, the University, and the region.”
